Akufo-Addo is a hero now in corruption fight – Legon Lecturer


A Lecturer with the University of Ghana (UG) currently on sabbatical leave, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, has described President Akufo-Addo as hero in the fight of corruption following recent corruption rating posted by the world-acclaimed Transparency International with regard to its Afrobarometer report on corruption for the years 2015 and 2019.

“All these baseless allegations, the President is now a victor contrary to a clearing agent tag the opposition are trying to hang on his neck”, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko observed in an interview monitored by mynewsgh.

There has been a drop in the incidence of corruption at the Presidency from the figure of 47% in 2015 to 27% speaking volumes about corruption allegations leveled against some appointees government.

According to the Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board (NAB), President Akufo-Addo, has proven beyond all reasonable doubts that he detests corrupt practices and will never entertain it in his government

“The spontaneity and alacrity at which he deals with alleged corrupt acts is not only admirable, but commendable. All the alleged cases of corrupt practices have been investigated or being investigated by his directives”, he stated.

“President Akufo-Addo does not “clear” persons in his government accused of being corrupt; in fact he has never in any way influenced the legal process. What is true is that he always allows due process to be followed”.

“This is a mark of a democrat and one that respects the fundamental human rights of people, and also believes that accused persons must be given the opportunity to defend themselves via fair trial. The president is always a victor when it comes to corruption!”, he stressed.
