Party Thugs Turn Court Bailiffs; Storm UEW To Serve Writ On Lecturer

Information received indicated that some thugs believed to have been sent by the Efutu MP, Afenyo-Markin stormed the University of Education Winneba to served a Writ filed at a High Court against him by Afenyo-Markin.

The thugs, according to sources stored the University in the company of Afenyo-Markin’s personal driver and a Bailif, trying to break into Alhassan Salifu Bawa’s residence.

The thugs according to the information were prevented from entering the House by the University security and National security operatives on the campus.

Speaking to Alhassan Salifu Bawa, he said he was briefed about the incident by the internal security officers at the university.

“The Constitution never allows thugs to serve a Respondent with writs from the Plaintiff. It is only a Bailif accompanied by a police officer who are mandated to serve a Writ on a Respondent,” he said.

He also said when the thugs were asked their mission, they told the University security that they were there to serve a Writ on him.

“These thugs can be identified, they were led by Afenyo-Markin’s personal driver who spoke on their behalf, ” he said.

Alhassan Salifu Bawa also revealed that it took the University internal security Director to call the Magistrate of the Court, to stop the thugs.

” This is illegal and not permitted by law, ” he said.
