Angry residents of Bawku welcomed Nana Akufo-Addo into the town with a demonstration. The President is on a tour of the Upper East Region.
Holding placards reflecting the state of hardship, worsening living conditions, abandoned road projects, lack of development and unfulfilled promises by his government, the demonstrators accused the President of neglect and betrayal of the good people of the region.
The youth were particularly incensed by the stoppage of work on the Bolga-Bawku-Pulimakom road, which was started by President Mahama and the road was about 40% complete when it was stopped by President Akufo-Addo.
The bad nature of the road affects as many as seven (7) districts in the region.
