The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Hon. Alfred Amoah has stressed that, one of the Nana Addo led government’s campaign promises is awarding of scholarships to, not only brilliant and needy students, but deserving ones as well. It is one of the ways to accelerate development in a country.
Hon. Amoah, in an interview with myafricatoday.com, said, as part of the government and the Ghana scholarship secretariat, it has decentralized its operations to the municipality or district level in the country.
“The government has adopted an open-door system to allow everyone, provided the person meets the requirements apply for scholarships. We are ready to help Nana Addo’s idea of making education accessible to every Ghanaian,” said the MCE.

Meanwhile, as the scholarship secretariat is decentralized, for the first time, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Saturday 6 July, 2019 will conduct an interview for those who applied for scholarship from different levels of education in the tertiaries, according to the committee.
The committee, which is chaired by the MCE, with representatives from Ghana Education Service, Scholarship Secretariat and other stakeholders.
President Akuffo Addo last year December introduced the tertiary Scholarship Scheme called “ Local Tertiary “ to assist students at the tertiary level in the country including those who wants to study abroad.
