General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah has incurred the wrath of Founder and Leader of Christ Jesus of Nazareth For All Freedom Fighters Fellowship, Prophet Emmanuel Kankam Kwaku Attah Kakrah for saying that “President Nana Addo Dankwa will be in trouble if he did not build a National Cathedral.”
Consequently, the man of God did not also spare the Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta for saying that National Cathedral is the future and saviour of Ghana and for that matter, calling on Isreal to let its financial assistance to government of Ghana to build the national monument.
Religiously, he noted that Prophet Owusu Bempah was quoted to have said that in the name of almighty God, No National Cathedral, no President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
But these statements of the two prominent personalities did not go well with Prophet Kankam for which he jabbed the two for supporting what he described as “dangerous decision,”in government’s involvement in the building of national Cathedral for Christ body saying that it a complete discrimination in the Christianity religious.
“The almighty God justice had ordered us to respond to Mr Ofori-Atta and his dengerous religious partners for the people of Ghana to know and understand that the New Patriotic Party’s led National Cathedral is indeed, the secret No.1 enemy of God and country. That Santanic wicked National Cathedral shall not stand today and tomorrow,” stressed.
According to him, the unfolding mystery is that the NPP led incoming National Cathedral monument and the infamous Ghana American Military deal has rather provoked the God of Abraham.
He said God is furious, his wrath is not far from reaching Ghanaians at all.
“As the concerned citizens of democratic Ghana,we have already sent letters and CDs to Prophet Dr.Owusu Bempah, the 13 member National Cathedral Trustees Board. We have also sent copies to the Hon Speaker of Paraliment, the Majority leaders of Paraliment for the needed actions,” he disclosed.
Prophet Kakrah expressed the sentiment at a press conference yesterday in Accra where he he called on Ghanaians to wake up from their slumber to join sections of the public opposing the government’s involvement in the construction of a National Cathedral
The man of God stated that he found the use of government resources in building a National Cathedral “unjustified and dengerous.’
President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s project to build a National Cathedral has been hailed by some religious groups and a section of the public, however, it seems to have ruffled the feathers of a few other interest groups.
The current major opposition to the construction of the landmark that was designed by the Ghanaian architect David Adjaye has been its planned location.
The 14 acres that the magnificent building will occupy is partly the location of the residence of some Appeal Court Judges and other important state institutions.
The cathedral will be an interdenominational Christian cathedral and will a thanksgiving edifice to God as part of Ghana’s 60th-anniversary celebrations, the President has said.
A private citizen, James Bomfeh, is also in court to challenge the constitutionality of state involvement in the erection of the National Cathedral and other religious activities like the organisation of the Hajj for Ghanaian Muslims.
According to Mr Bomfeh, a member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), the framers of the Constitution strived at fairness for every individual’s religious belief when they stated that the state must leave religious matters to the individual.
The Supreme Court is yet to pronounce judgement on the matter, but the government has already sent quit orders to residents whose homes and properties are situated on the stretch of prime land to be used for the cathedral.
