As part of the government efforts to improve agriculture in Ghana, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly has distributed 300,000 quality and high yielding cocoa seedlings to farmers in the municipality to enhance cocoa production.
Mr. Fredrick Armah Tawiah, visually impaired, who was a beneficiary of the cocoa seedlings distribution, advised people to engage themselves into farming, as he been a blind person has benefited a lot from farming job.
He also urged the Municipal Agriculture Department to provide the necessary resources to enhance productivity.

Meanwhile, the MCE for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Hon. Alfred Amoah said, the cocoa seedling project is the Visson of the Assembly to support the farmers across the municipality to expand, develop and rejuvenate their old cocoa farms to boost the internally generated revenue for the Assembly.
The free cocoa seedling distribution is implemented to support the government of Ghana’s flagship program “ Planting for Export and Rural Development ( PERD) “ under the Planting for Food and Jobs of which cocoa plantation forms the major part of the program implementation.
