Man commits suicide to avoid alcoholism advice

A 29-year old man, Atta, has committed suicide  by hanging himself on a tree behind a school at Fetentaa in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.

Information  received  claims, the young man has been involving himself in excessive drinking of which his parents advised him to desist. The young man, however, refused to heed to their advice.

The parents have been worried about their son’s attitude, trying to talk to him out of alcoholism.

Because of this, according to eye witnesses, the boy left home for the past 3 days for his parents commenting about his boozing behavior. After 3 days of not knowing his whereabout, the family members were informed that his lifeless body was found hanging on a tree behind a school at Fetentaaa.

The people of the town claim that nobody knows what prompted the man to take his life on that fateful Saturday.

The incident was reported to the Fetentaaa police station and the body has been deposited at the Berekum Holy Family Hospital morgue for autopsy.
