Private legal practitioner and Secretary of the Ghana Bar Association, Yaw Boafo has observed that investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas is no longer practicing journalism considering the methods being used in the line of his duties, unlike the times Obama praised him.
He said before then, Anas brought to the fore evidence of people committing a crime by themselves without he having to orchestrate it, but now he traps people and videos it as evidence they have committed a crime. The Bar Scribe says the two scenarios different.
The Secretary of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) in an interview with Kwame Adinkra on Pure Morning Drive monitored by MyNewsGh.com, is insisting that his modus operandi must be subjected to proper scrutiny as he appears to have veered from the acceptable procedures in unraveling corrupt acts and crime in the country
Lawyer Yaw Boafo maintained that Anas’ is employing different tactics which is ethically wrong and must be condemned by all.
He said “Kwame, Anas has changed his methods of operation and for me that’s the difficulty that I have. Anas himself, his earlier works that earned him praise from Barack Obama is not the same work he is doing. When you give people gifts to entrap them, that’s not fighting corruption.
