Members of the Minority in Parliament are marching to the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service to register their displeasure at events during last Thursday’s by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
Its Member for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George, was assaulted by some uniformed officers said to be operatives of the National Security Council.
The assault on the lawmaker, particularly, is what has stirred the Minority to walk to the seat of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Leader of the walk Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, who is also Minority Chief Whip, told TV3‘s Evelyn Tengmaa during the walk that theirs is a peaceful one.
“We are just going there peacefully,” he pointed out.
He said Mr George will make a statement to the IGP, David Asante-Apeatu.
