Parliament passes ‘US military base’ deal despite minority walkout

Parliament on Friday night passed the controversial Ghana-US Defence Cooperation Agreement despite protests by the minority.

The majority, who were left alone in the Chamber, accepted the agreement few minutes after the minority had walked out over the resentment to conditions stated in the agreement.

The House, which was expected to rise on Friday, March 23, 2018, extended its sitting into the night to among other things, consider the agreement which has brewed a lot of controversies and dominated various public discourse.
